The Royal Gorge train runs out of Canyon City, Colorado through the Royal Gorge of the Arkansas River. Canyon City is a bit more than a 2 hour drive from Denver and the train ride is about 2 hours. So it was an easy day trip for me while I was vacationing in Denver.
