The archeology of the Americas became an interest of mine while I was still in junior high school and stumbled across a copy of the first hand account of the discovery and first excavation of Mayan pyramids in Yucatan. Even before that I was fascinated by Native American culture. Many years ago I visited the cliff dwellings of Mesa Verde and casually had assumed that culture was limited to the Four Corners region. During the past year I spent in Arizona I discovered how mistaken was that assumption. I visited several National Monuments where the artifacts of this culture are protected and preserved. This is a collection of photos taken during my explorations.
